Help DC Animal Shelters By Fostering Kittens!

DC animal shelters have hundreds of adorable kittens and cats that need homes. Most immediately, they need foster homes: generous animal lovers who can "host" a litter, maybe a mom too. Many of the kittens are too young to be adopted yet, so they need space in a home temporarily until they are old enough to be put up for adoption. Basically, you would need to have a room that you can close off from your other animals -- even a spare bathroom would be better than the cages they are stuffed into now. And be around enough to feed them and play with them -- socialization is important. If you are interested, contact Laura at baughman.laura@gmail.com or 202-293-7640 (day) or 202-966-7734 (evening).

New Baltimore Branch Owner!

We are happy to announce that a new Baltimore Branch of Tails of the City has a new branch owner - Danielle Green. She can be reached by phone at 202-567-PETS (7387) or by email at Baltimore@DogsintheCity.info. You can also check out her own website by clicking here. We are excited to have her apart of our extended Tails of the City family!

We hope that there is not too much confusion about which branch to contact, and ask for your patience with this transition! If you are not sure who to contact, just contact any of the offices, and we can properly direct your request.

Pre-Service Interview: What to Expect

Tails of the City would love to meet you and your pets to arrange the services you require while away from your home. Call us for more information and to schedule a pre-service interview. We charge a one time registration fee of $25 for this pre-service visit.

During the interview, we'll:

  • Come to your home at a time convenient for you
  • Give your pets a chance to "pre- approve" us
  • Arrange all details, fill out and sign service contracts and pick up two copies of your keys. (For pet sitting assignments, key return is arranged per your instructions.)
